We began the ropes course today with easy activities to build confidence with the other members in our group. We did trust exercises like falling backwards into the arms of a partner. Over the course of the day, we scaled 12 foot walls, did partner tight roping, and organized ourselves in birthday order on a log without ever touching the ground and without the ability to see. The RA's encouraged those of us who normally take charge to sit back a bit and see how others respond and take up the responsibility and vice versa. The whole day was a very eye-opening experience into my own leadership ability and style.
Lunch was sandwiches on the beach with a gorgeous view of the water. We spent the last minutes of lunch skipping stones and reflecting on the morning activities.
