Here they are on their way very early Saturday morning to head off to the east coast -- Jared to Cornell and the ladies to Brown where they met up with Kiana. Today we had a wonderful brunch with some Brown alums, staff and the Program Director, Robin Rose.
After a delicious brunch and an opportunity for everyone to introduce themselves, there were two presentations -- Tahia Thaddeus Reynaga, Ph.D., Brown Assistant Dean for First Year and Sophomore Studies shared her background as a young woman from a struggling immigrant family who overcame many obstacles to secure her education. Then our Jessica gave an equally compelling talk about her background and hopes for participation in the Women and Leadership program. It was a very compelling presentation and we are very grateful to everyone at Brown -- both in Providence -- especially Guy Sanchez, the event organizer -- and back in California -- especially our booster team of Jonathan Speed and Peggy Tormey -- all of whom helped make this event happen.

Great photo!
With all of these blogs the two recurring themes seem to be food and laundry. We've taken care of the former and now we need a report on the latter. Surely after such a long trip these kids need to do something about their laundry.
I'll stay glued to my computer awaiting their posts n this critical matter.
